San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full time Director of Obstetrics to manage all operations of the Obstetrics department, including budgeting, staffing, and supervision of the nursing and tech staff. The Director is responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels with qualified and experienced staff trained to deliver safe and quality service within their scope of practice. The Director of Obstetrics will monitor, and comply with organizational policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local guidelines. This position offers competitive pay, annual variable pay bonus, director level benefits, cell phone stipend, relocation and sign on bonus. The Director supervises 25+ employees that range in statuses that are full time, part time, and PRN.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
Current RN License in the State of Colorado
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Obstetrics Department
Demonstrated Leadership Experience and ability to supervise multiple employees with coaching and counseling, engagement, growth and development, while simultaneously meeting departmental and organizational needs.
Current BLS, STABLE, and NRP certifications.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes, as well a as oversee the day-to-day operations of the department.
Develop patient satisfaction initiatives to sustain and improve scores.
Active in hiring, retention and development of staff within the department while instilling a positive and supportive work environment.
Other duties as required to ensure smooth operation of the department and the contribution to the organization as a whole.
