The Director of Nursing directs the provision of nursing care for Maternal/Child Services while maintaining standards of patient care.
Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.
Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.
Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.
Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.
Will lead staff of approximately 135 FTE's (including several Nurse Shift managers).
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent education & experience) AND Master's Degree in Nursing or related field (e.g. MBA/MHA).
Minimum of 3 years nursing experience AND 2 years of leadership experience. Must have either hands-on nursing experience in unit in NICU, Peds or Labor & Delivery OR have led, as a Manager or Director a Pediatrics, NICU, or L&D unit. Other serviceline leadership will be accepted, if you have worked as an RN in a Women-Children's unit in the past.
California RN license (or ability to obtain license in California)
