You Will Be Responsible For:
Answers telephone promptly and identifies self. Always asks the patient's name and identifying information to ensure correct medical record is accessed. Documents all patient calls with objective patient related information and instruction.
Determines the urgency of calls that come to them and communicates appropriately patient's needs to the physicians by paging or chart message.
Discusses any calls that they are unable to resolve with the Nurse Manager or attending physician to assure safe care and timely resolution.
Utilizes established telephone triage protocols to assess patient's needs and determine disposition.
Meets departmental productivity and customer services standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Current clinical experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :
Physician office and triage experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Triage Nurse gathers information from patients calling and determines appropriate disposition and documents per established telephone triage protocols. Participates in the education of resident physicians. Answers Triage Medical Assistant questions as needed. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
