The ACF Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, and collaborating operations for all services at the Ambulatory Care Facility. The Director of Nursing manages and oversees daily clinical operations under the direction of the Administrator of the facility; and works directly with the ACF Medical Director, ACF Administrator, physicians and supporting departments to meet department's goals and mission.
The ACF Director of Nursing services shall be responsible for the direction, provision, and quality of nursing services provided to patients. The director of nursing services shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Developing and maintaining written objectives, policies, a procedure manual, an organizational plan, and a quality assurance program for the nursing service. All nursing policies and procedures shall be reviewed at least annually;
Participating in planning and budgeting for the nursing service;
Coordinating and integrating the nursing service with other patient care services to provide a continuum of care for the patient;
Initiates, amends, and maintains established workflow to meet patient care needs Identifies and advocates for adequate resources for the delivery of patient care Supports commitment to customer service in meeting the needs of patients, families and colleagues
Analyzes workflow to ascertain the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of patient care
Develops supports and maintains an integrated, interdisciplinary patient care process
Collaborates with other health care providers to provide seamless delivery of patient care services
Ensuring that nursing staffing patterns are implemented;
Assisting in developing and maintaining written job descriptions for nursing personnel, and assigning duties based upon education, training, competencies, and job descriptions;
Participating in staff orientation and staff education activities.
Promotes the Nursing profession and practice
Advocates on behalf of patients/families and personnel, promoting adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care.
Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the ACF leadership team.
Evaluates the performance of personnel.
Participates and contributes to the development of the overall goals and plans for the ambulatory care services.
Actively participates in the development and growth of ACF operations.
Works with schedulers to develop efficient physician OR schedules.
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field required or at minimum matriculated in a Master’s program
Five years clinical experience required, preferably at least one year in pediatrics
Knowledge of professional nursing theory & practice; knowledge of management theory and change process
Experience with outpatient/ambulatory services and population.
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse Licensure Required
Active Delaware Registered Nurse Licensure as required
Certification in nursing administration and/or certification in a clinical specialty preferred
