Liaison and trains, physicians and staff on medical records systems. Acts as Administrator for one or more systems (HPF, Nuance, etc.) adding and deleting users; assigning user name, password, etc. Maintains monthly audits of system access. As required, performs duties of Clerk: Processes admission and discharge records for inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Room visits and works as a Floater in the department. Based on appropriate training: facilitates timely completion of records and processes release of information, birth records as directed; assists with the suspension process from the HPF system; performs analysis of daily discharge records for inpatients and outpatients; prepares charts for scanning and participates in the scanning and indexing of records for inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Room visits; processes transcribed reports from dictation system.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of medical records experience in a healthcare setting. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Computer experience required. Advance knowledge of medical record functions required. Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are necessary. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
