The Lactation Consultant Nurse is responsible for managing the lactation, perinatal grief and Early Discharge programs for Hardin Memorial Hospital. The KY Nurse Practice Act and established HMH policies, procedures and standards of practice, determine the scope of practice.
Graduate of school of nursing with current unrestricted KY license required, or higher. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred and minimum of five years recent clinical experience in Maternal-Child Nursing required. Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and perinatal grief counselor required upon hire. Requires good clinical, organizational, customer service and critical thinking skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred on hire and required within 90 days of hire. Flexibility in work schedule, shift hours and job duties are required as well as basic computer skills.
