Nemours is seeking a Orthopedics Scheduling Specialist, FULL-TIME to join our Nemours Children's Specialty Care team in Jacksonville, Florida.

Oversees and responds to the scheduling and template development functions within Nemours Children’s Specialty Care Orthopedics Department. Primary responsibility for orthopedic scheduling and template development, optimization, reporting, and analysis across all Jacksonville orthopedic locations. Serves as Epic Cadence expert for Jacksonville Orthopedics. Serves as resource to other schedulers. Serves as point of contact for troubleshooting urgent and/or same day patient scheduling requests and contact for key community partners
Oversees and develops templates to assure full utilization of system and provider capabilities, efficient and simplified scheduling, and maximum Orthopedic patient access and slot utilization.
Serves as a leader in the orthopedics department, and functions as a resource for leadership, providers, schedulers, and other Associates. Is primary liaison to patient access and registration teams, assuring common practices, staffing, procedural guidelines, and updated processes.
Routinely and proactively trends analyzes orthopedic schedules, templates, and systems issues, identifies opportunities and presents and works with Orthopedic leadership team and Associates to continually improve systems.
Assists in integration throughout Florida (Pensacola/Orlando/Jacksonville) including scheduling and referrals.
Serves as an expert on Epic Cadence processes and systems.
Collaborates with Orthopedics Supervisor, Nurse Manager, providers, and other Associates to assure effective patient flow within and from the orthopedic clinic and oversight of the scheduling functions.
Serves as the liaison and single point of contact to referring providers and community partners for Orthopedics, developing and maintaining cooperative relationships to meet scheduling expectations, deliver/improve access to services, and facilitate routine, urgent, and emergent patient referrals.
Responsible for creation and maintenance of advanced system build, accurately maintaining the integrity of the system build and collaborating with IS Business Analysts, application support, and other enterprise wide Associates.
Keeps Nurse Manager and others informed of unusual patient or scheduling situations, patient safety events, changes in scheduling requirements or operational problems with the department.
Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.
High School diploma required upon hire; Associate degree or higher in business or health care science or a closely related field preferred
1 year of specialized training beyond high school required
Epic Cadence Certification preferred
Minimum of 3 years scheduling experience required
