Position Overview:
Under the supervision and direction of the neonatologist and the Neonatal Resuscitation Coordinator, the Neonatal Transport Specialist assesses and manages the care of the acutely and moderately ill newborn during interfacility transport; supervises the transport team comprised of NICU RN's and/or Respiratory Care practitioner; and attends births for the purpose of initiating neonatal resuscitation when clinically indicated; assists pediatricians/neonatologists with primary newborn/high risk newborn care; assists during the stabilization phases of infants in NICU; completes initial assessment activities at all attended deliveries; performs ongoing teaching and evaluation of transport team members.

Qualifications:
Education, Licensures and Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Registered Nurse - CA State Licensure - RN required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - NRP required
- Neonatal IC Nursing - NNICN preferred
- Basic Life Support Certification - BLS required
- Minimum 2 years recent Level III NICU experience required
- Minimum 2 years recent neonatal transport experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong communication skills required
- Attendance/stabilization at high risk deliveries
