Organizational Unit Overview: The College of Nursing is a part of the Health Sciences Division that includes Allied Health, Dental Science, and a School of Medicine committed to excellence in teaching and scientific inquiry. The mission of the college is to serve as a national model for transforming the health of rural under served regions through excellence and innovation in nursing education, leadership, research, scholarship and practice.

Job Duties

Minimum Education/Experience:  Tenure track positions require a doctorate in nursing or related field, from an appropriately accredited institution.  Non-tenure requires a Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution in nursing.  A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment. Teaching experience in obstetrical nursing.  Two years of clinical nursing experience is required.  

License or Certification required by statute or regulation: A valid non-restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:  A PhD in Nursing is preferred or a closely related discipline with a graduate degree in nursing or a MSN in Nursing Education. NCC Credential in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) is preferred.
