Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Job Description:
The RN plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the Family Birthing Center. The RN ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with departmental standards of care. The RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the Labor and Delivery department and the organization.

Job Responsibilities for the Labor and Delivery RN:
- Provide hands-on care and constant monitoring to mothers during labor, including assessing vital signs, contractions, and fetal heart rate, while ensuring comfort and emotional support.
- Respond promptly to emergencies during childbirth, identifying complications and taking swift action to stabilize situations, collaborating with medical specialists as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the medical team, while educating mothers about procedures, postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn well-being.
- Current licensure in the State of WA
- BLS (AHA HCP) Required
- NRP Required
- ACLS & PALS within 60 days of hire
- Experience in L&D or willingness to train required
