JOB SUMMARY
The Women's Health NP position include but are not limited to providing advice, care, and support for women and their babies during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Perform diagnostic tests and procedures or refer tests as appropriate. Work closely with obstetricians and gynecologists in diagnosing and treating women with acute and chronic illnesses. Perform counseling on birth control and placement of long-acting reversible contraception (LARCs) (i.e. IUDs, Nexplanon), possibly perform in office procedures like endometrial biopsy and colposcopy.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
1. Counsel and educate patients, conduct examinations, and take detailed medical histories.
2. Provide well-woman gynecological care, family planning advice, and prenatal care.
3. Prescribe pharmaceuticals as appropriate and within the scope of practice.
4. Diagnose, monitor, and examine women during pregnancy.
5. Develop, assess, and evaluate individual programs of care.
6. Provide full antenatal care, including screening tests in the office.
7. Identify high-risk pregnancies and make referrals to doctors and other medical specialists.
8. Provide evaluation and management for common gynecological concerns.
9. Provide counseling and advice before and after screenings and tests.
10. Offer support and advice following events such as miscarriage, termination, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality and neonatal death.
11. Perform administrative duties such as keeping detailed records of their patients.
12. Facilitate needed referrals, including social services for patients requiring services not offered at True Health in coordination with referral coordinators and nurses according to True Health policy.
13. Respond to "on call" requests as demanded by practice (e.g., nights/weekends).
14. Other responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have and maintain current State of Florida license in good standing
- Current National Board Certification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Effective written, verbal and electronic communication skills
- Show initiative, creativity and problem-solving ability
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to provide quality healthcare
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience using an electronic medical records system
- Bilingual a plus, but not required (English/Spanish)

- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
