The purpose of this position is to provide 24-hour accountability for coordination of the safe provision of quality patient care on the inpatient unit for women, families and children.
1. Operational functions include providing for safe 24-hour staffing, financial stewardship, respectful environment of care for staff and patients, based on person-centered principles.
2. Quality and Safety. Will ensure that environment in non-punitive and engages staff, providers and patients to uncover and speak up about safety concerns. Intentional efforts of continual process improvement that enhances the safety and quality of patient care and the patient care environment.
3. Supervisory functions include recruiting, interviewing, evaluating, team development, coaching, counseling, and terminating staff for an overall efficient running operation. Students are welcome in our care environment and will be treated as future colleagues and offered safe intentional learning opportunities.
The Manager will develop and model healing relationships with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, families and visitor. Will develop key working relationships with LRH clinical staff, support departments, referral agencies, volunteers, APPs and Physicians. The Nurse Manager must have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, must be able work cooperatively with teams, demonstrate public relation skills, and exercise good judgement. Effective communication skills are essential for this position.
Requirements: Registered nurse with current licensure in Minnesota: baccalaureate degree or willingness to obtain within 3 years. Five years clinical experience in pediatrics and or labor and delivery. Evidence of progressive supervisory accountability or formal leadership and supervisory experience. Willingness to continue development of leadership process improvement and business skills. This position requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
