LPN - Newborn Nursery

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Scheduled Weekly Hours: TBD
The LPN position is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of a group of assigned patients. Activities include, but are not limited to, use of the nursing process in the utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient. The LPN works within the framework of the State LPN Practice Act and complies with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. The LPN will support the goals and objectives of the department and of the hospital.

Demonstrated communication, time management and organizational skills required. Must have typing and computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and be able to perform detail oriented tasks. Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Current LA LPN Licensure and BLS required. NRP required within 90 days of hire.

One year of experience with couplet care, preferred. One year of experience providing postpartum care and one year of experience of providing newborn care is acceptable.
