Registered Nurse NICU – Level IV NICU
We are seeking registered nurses to provide high-quality care to our tiniest of patients in our state-of-the-art, fifty-six-bed Level 4 NICU. Applicants can expect to care for premature patients, ill newborns, and complex surgical patients. Special capabilities include therapeutic hypothermia, high frequency ventilation, bubble CPAP, nitric oxide, various other respiratory support, ECMO and surgical services.

Registered Nurse NICU – Level II NICU
The Women & Babies Center at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center is a 10 bed Level II NICU. Our patients are babies who are born at or after 32 weeks and who weigh more than 3.3 pounds. These babies may have some health problems, but they’re not so serious that they require a higher level of care. Babies who are born before 32 weeks or who weigh less than 1,500 grams are transferred to the Hershey Medical Center. Our patients are babies needing advanced care for prematurity, hypoglycemia, sepsis and more. The NICU at Hampden offers state-of-the-art technology and has a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Neonatologist on staff 24/7. Registered Nurses/RNs collaborate closely with the neonatal provider team and partner with the Labor & Delivery team for deliveries. The NICU at Hampden Medical Center is in direct affiliation with the Penn State Health Children's Hospital and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Registered Nurse Women’s Health
Our 30 bed unit serves as an educational, research and health care site to specifically address the issues facing women today. Among the comprehensive areas are labor delivery recovery (LDR) rooms, Caesarean section rooms, triage beds, newborn nurseries and a transitional nursery. Types of patients include gynecology, gynecology/oncology, labor and delivery, antepartum, mother/baby couplets and transitional newborns. Nurses on this unit have the chance to participate in ongoing learning programs related to electronic fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, labor support, circulating during a Caesarean section and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
JOB TASKS:
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating developmentally appropriate care
- Educating and supporting new parents on basic infant care including breastfeeding, hand hygiene and back to sleep
- Attention to detail in a fast paced and high stress environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment required.
BLS required prior to orientation completion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
Experience working in the NICU setting is highly preferred
The NICU is seeking RNs that can critically think and respond and recognize changes in condition. You must be energetic, flexible and honest and be willing to work as part of the team.

Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, newly opened in October 2021, brings acute inpatient medical services to communities in Cumberland, Perry, and York counties. The facility features 108 private inpatient beds and an attached outpatient medical office building.
Located on the second floor of the Hampden Medical Center, the Women and Babies Center features spacious private rooms and bathrooms, dedicated labor and delivery suites & cesarean delivery rooms, antepartum and post-partum rooms, Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which offers 2 private licensed beds with the ability for mothers to room-in and an additional 8 beds within an open bay for overflow needs and provides specialized intensive care services for newborns. This unit is staffed with 2 RNs 24/7 and provides close care to babies who are born at or after 32 weeks through term. Our patients are babies needing advanced care for prematurity, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and more.
