The Registered Nurse is accountable to the Womens Services Nursing Director, and provides professional nursing services through education and patient care in the hospital setting. Follows established nursing process, including patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning intervention, and evaluation. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as a primary liaison between patients, families, staff and providers. Performs other duties as assigned.Experience:Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit. Special skills required of the Registered Nurse include the ability to communicate effectively with patients, family, and healthcare personnel.Licenses/Certificates:Current RN license recognized in the State of TexasCurrent Basic Life support through The American Red Cross or The American Heart AssociationMust obtain ALS, NRP and Stable within 9 months of hireAWHONN or Advance Fetal Monitoring certification after a minimum of 6 months in L& D
