Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center

As the largest hospital in San Luis Obispo County, Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center strives to produce optimal outcomes and exceptional patient experiences to the community it serves. High-level services include neurosurgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, perinatology (high-risk pregnancy), neonatology (high-risk newborn care), pediatrics, cancer care, stroke, gastroenterology and trauma. Sierra Vista houses the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between Santa Barbara and Salinas, the only dedicated pediatric unit in San Luis Obispo County and serves as the county's designated trauma center. Additionally, Baby-Friendly USA designated Sierra Vista as an internationally recognized Baby-Friendly birth facility. Sierra Vista is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and has earned an A from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade in every reporting period since it was created in 2012.

Position Summary

Provides for the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on specified shifts. This position is responsible for care planning, medication administration, noting of physiological changes, and psychosocial needs of neonates, as well as the education/training of the patient and their family. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice and will be cross trained and float to Peds.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Current CA RN License
• Current BLS, PALS, NRP Certifications
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Neonatal transport experience
• Previous experience attending deliveries
• RNC or CCRN Certification

Pay range: $15.50 - $100.00

Individual wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and experience
