As an RN in our 28-bed Mother Baby unit, you will provide care for a wide variety of antepartum, postpartum and newborn patients. We see approximately 4,400 patients each year. The majority of our patients are healthy postpartum mothers and healthy newborns. In addition to our predominantly healthy patients, we also take care of sick mothers who are experiencing complications, high-risk antepartum patients, pre-term patients and those who have experienced pregnancy loss.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows.
External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $10,000 (prorated for part time roles). A relocation package of $5,200 (pro-rated for part-time roles) is also available for relocating applicants.

EDUCATION:
Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter.
EXPERIENCE:
Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
Greater than one year of experience.
