This position will be responsible for supervising the Maternal Child areas: Labor & Delivery, Mother Baby and Pediatrics. This position will have a combination of night and evening shifts, it will be eligible for shift differentials.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS) functions to support unit operations, staff development and overall communication during evening, night and weekend hours. This leader will have a primary cohort of units to engage with, and collaborate with unit leaders and educators from this cohort to understand the high priority needs of the units. This leader will then be successful in removing barriers, enhancing education, facilitating operations and mentoring staff across the evening, night and weekend shifts. They will demonstrate strong clinical skills in their areas to act as a role model to colleagues and foster collaboration and communication across disciplines and departments as needed. This leader will also be a primary liaison to unit leadership to create awareness of staff needs, barriers to safe, timely patient care and overall culture.
EDUCATION:
State of Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Bachelors degree in Nursing required.
Masters Degree preferred, preferably in nursing or a related health field.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience. Healthcare leadership or education experience preferred.
