Responsibilities:
The NICU Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible and accountable for the quality of nursing care provided in the NICU by providing policies, procedures, clinical orientation, staff development, mentoring, consultation, and the maintenance of state and national standards of care. The CNS is responsible for the collection, submission, evaluation and dissemination of required data. The NICU education plan is developed and implemented in consultation with the NICU Nursing and Medical Directors.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.2. Current certification by the State Board of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist 3. Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization (i.e. the NCC)4. Three (3) years of clinical experience in neonatal nursing carea. Minimum of one (1) year experience in neonatal nursing care at a NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU5. NRP certificate upon hire and maintain current6. NRP Instructor preferred7. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
