Job DescriptionResponsibilities

Primary Function:

The Registered Nurse, RN for the MCFP (Maternal Child Float Pool) functions within the Professional Nursing Law, according to professional standards, and his/her level of knowledge and experience. He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients (or patient) for a designated time frame by prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care. The Professional Registered Nurse provides care to the patient population of a specified clinical unit.

Qualifications

Education & Training:
    \tBSN required, or in progress to be completed within 2 years of hire

    Experience:
      \tMinimum 2 years RN Med/Surg experience or 2 years Women and Children's RN experience

      Licensure, Certifications, & Registration Requirements:
        \tCurrent licensure as a Regisgtered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required \tBLS certification through American Heart Association required\tNRP certification required \tACLS & PALS certification through American Heart Association preferred \tCertification in clinical practice area preferred\tMembership in Professional Organization encouraged

        Conditions of Employment

        Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.

        Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
