Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse, Acute Care will work Full Time, Various Shifts and Weekends and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient's needs. The Registered Nurse contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork. The Registered Nurse I status and job description is only appropriate for a new nurse in the first year of practice, as support from others in incorporated into this role as an expectation. Therefore, all Registered Nurse I's are expected to complete the requirements of the Nurse Residency program and complete the application and credentialing process for successful advancement to RN II by 12-15 months after hire. Registered Nurse II through IV are accountable to assure that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state, federal law. Registered Nurse II and IV serves as a resource for other staff and clinicians as required. The Registered Nurse IV provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and mentor. The Registered Nurse IV contributes to the body of professional nursing practice through participation in research, committee work, and professional organizations, internal and external.

Qualifications:
Bassett Healthcare Network follows the New York State and New York State Department of Health COVID-19 vaccine mandates for healthcare workers. Education:Graduation from a Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma Professional Nursing program is required.Licensure/Certificates: Current NYS license as a RN required.BLS certification required.Certification in area of practice preferred. Experience:3 years RN experience required.1 year of above RN experience must be within relevant practice area.Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role preferred. Skills:Ability to function in leadership capacity as determined by practice arena.Ability to precept and mentor other staff members.
