Job Summary and Qualifications

As a NICU Unit Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) you will be part of an amazing interdisciplinary team environment. You will work under the general supervision of the unit's director and you will assume responsibility for the direction and the coordination of all functions in the N ICU Department on your designated shifts. You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients and to provide direction and supervisions to other staff caring for patients.

Here is some of what you can expect from being a NICU Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) with us:
  • The Women's and Children's Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) will be responsible for developing NICU specific policies and competencies.
  • The CNC will be responsible for implementation of standards of care, assist the unit educators in staff orientation and annual competencies for the Women's and Children's Service Line.
  • The CNC will work with the Department Director, the NICU/Pediatric Supervisor and the Medical Director in establishing appropriate standards of care.
  • The CNC will assist withNeonatal& Pediatric QI/PI activities and will serve as a liaison to appropriate inpatient nursing, referral hospitals, hospital affiliated with RMHC, and other medical resources needed to integrate services for the continuum of care of the neonatal patient.
  • The Women's and Children's Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) will be responsible for developing NICU specific policies and competencies.   • The CNC will work with the Department Director, the NICU/Pediatric Supervisor and the Medical Director in establishing appropriate standards of care.
  • The CNC will assist with Neonatal& Pediatric QI/PI activities and will serve as a liaison to appropriate inpatient nursing, referral hospitals, hospital affiliated with RMHC, and other medical resources needed to integrate services for the continuum of care of the neonatal patient.
  • The CNC will assist in the development of disaster preparedness needs specific for the neonatal population and will participate in hospital disaster-preparedness activities as needed.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support & NRP certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. STABLE Preferred
  • Activity in professional organization recommended.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Minimum of two years as a staff nurse in related area of acute care nursing. Previous CNC or charge nurse experience preferred.
