Job Summary and Qualifications

As a highly-skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse in Women's Float Pool you will provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and nursing care to each patient based upon the nursing process and in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. The Women's Float Pool RN will is tasked with caring for both mother and newborn baby prior to, during and once a birth has taken place. This nurse utilizes a strong set of skills to recognize and act upon postpartum emergencies for both patients.

Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director.
  • The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
  • The Registered Nurse in 604 Women's Float Pool provides care for adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 50 year.


What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • BCLS required upon hire. NRP certification required within 1 month of hire. ACLS required for LD/AP and Women's Surgery. PALs required for Pediatrics
  • Previous clinical experience in a minimum of two areas served by Womens' Services Float Pool: Mother Baby, NICU, Labor & Delivery, Women's Surgical or Pediatrics.


This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
