A nursery nurse is a medical professional who assists in the early care and delivery of babies. Sometimes referred to as neonatal nurses, these professionals work in hospitals. If you are interested in working in the medical field and are good with infants, you may want to consider a career as a nursery nurse.

Position Duties (not all inclusive)
  • Administering medication and treatments to babies.
  • Caring for infants, including changing diapers, feeding and holding the babies when their parents are unavailable.
  • Assisting doctors with examinations, treatment plans and surgeries.
  • Collaborating with doctors to create care plans.
  • Maintaining patient records.
  • Educating parent on how to care for their baby outside of the hospital, including teaching new parents how to feed and swaddle their baby.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Texas Registered Nurse License without restrictions.
  • BLS (CPR) Certified.
  • NRP Certification
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
