Perinatal LPN Birthing Center

Responsibilities:
Surveys the environment of care and maintains the environment in a state of safety and readiness. Communicates effectively with nursing, professional, Allied Health and support staff. Performs testing and screening on adult and neonatal patients as ordered. Performs basic patient care. Demonstrates the assimilation of the principles of asepsis, patients, and staff safety in performance of duties. Provides additional administrative and service support to providers/health care team members congruent with PSA role. Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed.

Qualifications:
Education/Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program is required. Experience: 6 months of work experience as an LPN or A new LPN with extensive experience as a tech in a procedure room or operating room Licensure/Certificates: Current NYS licensures as a LPN or valid interim permit is required Current BLS certification is required within 6 month from date of hire Skills: Excellent communication skills Proficiency in required nursing skills relevant to area of practice. Ability to multi-task effectively in a rapidly changing environment. Ability to lead approved work unit initiatives.
