Overview:
Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a full-time Doula Specialist for our Granite City, IL location, servicing the Metro East and St. Louis, MO areas. Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to over 700 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health and primary care treatment to patients in Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Responsibilities:
Provide emotional, physical, and educational support in order to assist and advocate for women to have a safe, positive birthing experience. Model and teach pain relief techniques including breathing techniques, relaxation techniques, massage techniques, and laboring positions. Meet clients during the assessment process and create birthing plans and update as needed. Attend client births by coordinating schedules to attend the majority of client-planned births. Record special moments associated with the client's pregnancy, the child's birth, and the child's early life through digital photos that are shared with the client. Provide the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale with clients weekly after giving birth. Provide informational support for feeding and caring of newborns. Provide home based parenting education to pregnant and post-partum women and their families utilizing the Family Spirit home-visiting model.Provide supportive services to clients, their infants, and families with referrals to medical services, medication assisted treatment, behavioral health services, and other ancillary needs when identified. Transport clients when needed.Identify other community resources to assist clients and collaborate with these resources to provide services to clients.Assist with responding to inquiries from other agencies, visit agencies that are potential referral sources, and attend community meetings to build awareness of the program. Model and support clients in the areas of personal responsibility, self-advocacy and hopefulness, by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors. Coordinate services with treatment team and other supports to ensure continuum of care.Maintain all required documentation of services provided within the timelines established.Meet or exceed productivity expectations as determined by supervisor.Demonstrate proficient computer skills to perform job duties.Demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to individuals' cultural beliefs and values.Function as a team member, attend meetings, client staffing, participate in program development activities and provide support and backup to other team members as necessary.Participate in professional training and educational activities in order to achieve/maintain professional development and upgrade knowledge and skills.Promote Chestnut's culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut's behavioral standards for customer service.Maintain and protect confidentiality of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities, including but not limited to, financial and client information. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Position requires an Associate's Degree in Community Health, Child and Family Behavior, Sociology, or Behavioral Science. Must be able to share personal experience with impact on recovery. Must obtain Birth and Postpartum Doula Certification from DONA International within one (1) year of training. Training to commence within three (3) months of hire date. Must obtain Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification (CPRS) within two (2) years of hire. Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and must meet qualifications for agency auto insurance coverage.
