Overview:

Responsibilities:
Evaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests. Reviews and records laboratory results in prenatal record. Reviews and interprets laboratory results with client.Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions.Completes post-partum rounds and discharges.Supervises Nurse-Mid-wifery students and family practice residents during their clinical rotation at CH.Participates in multi-disciplinary conference. Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually. Maintains contact with professional organizations.Participates in performance improvement activities.Participates in continuing education activities and obtains CEUs necessary to maintain state licensure and prescriptive authority.Adapts to changing demands of workplace and assumes a leadership role in supporting co-workers adaptation to change.

Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited midwifery program with Certificate of nurse-midwifery.Successful completion of integration experience in an accredited midwifery program.BLSNJ Nurse MidwifeExperienced CNM preferred but will consider new gradsBIPOC strongly encouraged to applySpanish-speaking preferredFrequent physical demands include: Standing , Walking , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Wrist position deviationOccasional physical demands include: Sitting , Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Carry objects , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion , Taste or Smell Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs.
