Position Summary:

The Director of Nursing (DON) for Maternal & Child Health collaborates with unit management for operations and program planning. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing care delivered, planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating the nursing service within a functional unit. In addition, the DON is responsible for fiscal management, development of short and long term goals for nursing service, management of nursing personnel, and providing nursing leadership in formulating and implementing functional unit objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's in Nursing.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in MD or compact state
  • Experience: Advanced administrative skills at a level generally acquired through four to seven years of progressively responsible nursing administration experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and administration to plan and evaluate nursing standards and practice.
  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership and collaboration within a multidisciplinary setting.
