BSA is acclaimed for its superior quality and customer service. BSA Women's & Infant Center: Includes Labor & Delivery, Couplet Care, Newborn Nursery, NICU, and Lactation.
The department is comprised of 26 LDRP single-room birthing suites, 2 C-section surgical suites, 20 licensed nursery beds, and 20 licensed Level III NICU beds. New parents are supported with childbirth education plus a lactation nurse available 24 hours a day. Along with our excellent hospital based mother/baby services, BSA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) fixed wing transportation team, available 24/7, flies to rural communities to transport babies by airplane from area hospitals to the Level III designated BSA NICU.
Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and health needs of their patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with the patients and the interdisciplinary healthcare team members. The Women's Center Labor & Delivery Staff RN will care for the patient in all stages of labor, ante partum, post partum, and normal newborn and cross-train for Newborn Nursery. Qualifications Licenses and Certifications: Current Texas RN license CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required NRP certification required within 6-months of hire AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required within 12-months of hire Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to care for patients throughout the OB spectrum from labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum includes ante-partum patients and assisting in the nursery Previous medical surgical or OB nursing experience strongly desired Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process Critical thinking skills Organized, able to prioritize Self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills Computer skills necessary; EMR EPIC documentation Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions Clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals Compassionate customer service skills Committed to patient and family satisfaction
