Responsibilities Position Summary The Charge Nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation and coordination of patient care for a shift.

She/he provides leadership to the staff by working cooperatively with the nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team to assure that care is given through utilization of the nursing process. Job Duties Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Nursing Process for patients in the following age groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics. Documents thoroughly as care is delivered, following regulatory and hospital requirements.

Participates in the responsible management of health care resources. Assumes responsibility for clinical competencies and professional development of self and others. Demonstrates leadership to staff and in management of department activities.

Practices in a clinical environment through application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills Ability to work varied shifts and/or days including weekends and holidays. Qualifications Qualifications Experience PREFERRED 2-3 years experience in hospital setting as staff nurse Education REQUIRED Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing. Certification/Licenses REQUIRED Current license as RN in state of Texas Certified basic life support.
