Responsibilities:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse is under the direct/indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse and is responsible for the professional nursing care and related assistance to patients on an assigned unit. Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Licensed Vocational Practice Act and in the assigned area to established procedures. Projects an image of a level-headed professional that is constantly striving to increase their knowledge to better the care for the patient.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATIONGraduate of an accredited licensed vocational nursing program.MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCEPrevious clinical nursing experience preferred.REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSCurrent licensure in Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. Certification in Advance Cardiac Life Support within 1 year of employment preferred.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESExcellent communication and customer engagement skills. Computer skills.WORK SCHEDULEThis unit/department is staffed to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. It requires working weekends and holidays. Generally scheduled 12 hour shifts day or night rotations. Schedules and work shifts may be changed in respect to patient procedure demands and hospital census. During low census or low procedure volumes, staff may be required to float to other nursing units where deemed competent, flex hours or rotate days off without pay.
