Position Summary
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the patient care setting. Communicates, as appropriate, information about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
Required Education and Experience
* Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Current State of Louisiana or compact state Registered Nurse Licensure.
* Current BCLS certification must be available upon hire or certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current ACLS certification must be available upon hire or certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Current PALS certification must be available upon hire or certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
* Successful completion of arrhythmia course must be available upon hire or certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. At least one year of independent clinical experience
2. BSN prepared
3. Specialty Certification
4. L&D, Newborn Nursery, or Postpartum experience is preferred
