As a Lactation Consultant you will support the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora and Centennial Medical Plaza of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.� As a skilled member of the health care team, you will be working under the supervision of the lactation program, providing patient care.�

What you will do in this role:

* You will take brief patient histories and you will perform physical examinations under the lactation consultant�s scope of care.

* You will develop treatment plans and you will explain them to patients.�

* You will have strong interpersonal skills.�

* You will be adept at use of adult learning principles.

*Qualifications*

What qualifications you will need:

* Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.�

* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.� BSN Preferred.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC is required.

* IBCLC certification preferred.

* Prior experience in counseling breast-feeding women.
