Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - Nemours Children's Hospital

Providing care for pediatric patients, including interview of patients, obtaining and recording health histories, completes physical and developmental assessments, diagnosing health problems, manages the health care of those patients for which he/she has been educated, provides health care teaching and counseling, initiates referrals and maintains health records in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
Essential Functions:

Provides care to pediatric patients as guided by education, clinical expertise and Collaborative Practice Agreement, including ambulatory, inpatient (acute) care, pre- and post-operative management
* Provides around-the-clock in-house medical management in an acute or intensive care environment.
* Elicits comprehensive or focused/interval health history(ies).
* Performs complete or interim physical examinations as indicated by the nature of the encounter
* Orders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests, including laboratory, radiological or other tests within the APRN Scope of Practice.
* Plans interventions including medications, treatments and procedures, and modifies plans based on evaluation of patient response.
* Performs procedures as set forth in specialty-specific privileging forms and/or Collaborative Practice Agreement

Requirements:

* Must have current APRN license in good standing
* Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification preferred
* Current AHA BLS certification upon hire & PALS within 90 days of hire.
* Minimum of two years Pediatric Nursing experience required. Intensive Care, Acute Care or ED experience preferred
* Pediatric Advanced Practice experience preferred
