Our state-of-the-art Labor & Delivery unit features:

  • 42 labor beds 19 antepartum beds 12 post-partum high-risk beds Five operating rooms An 8-bed recovery room Four pre-op beds Dedicated OR staffing, including an OR Charge Nurse 2:1 staffing ratio

 

Within this fast-paced setting, you will perform the hands-on responsibilities of a staff nurse in addition to leading and growing a close-knit clinical team. You will:

  • Prepare daily staff work assignments Make patient rounds, evaluate nursing/unit activities, set patient care priorities, and recommend operational changes to enhance care Supervise staff, including orienting, training, counseling, and evaluating Interpret and communicate hospital and division nursing philosophy, policies, procedures, and established standards of care and practice Help develop departmental goals, objectives, policies and procedures Maintain adequate supplies, equipment, etc. Make budget recommendations Participate in quality improvement activities Coordinate admissions and discharges Serve as liaison between patients, families, staff, and physicians Ensure compliance with hospital and professional license, certification, in-service, and training requirements

 

To qualify, you will have:

  • Associate degree with three years of clinical experience OR BSN with two years of clinical experience A minimum of one year of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery care Ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions Strong leadership and problem-solving skills CPR certification Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
