The Maternal Infant Center is seeking candidates for a full-time Surgical Technologist position.The Surgical Technologist is responsible for aiding the professional nurse or doctor during the perioperative phase of the patient's surgical experience. This job requires employees to demonstrate initial and annual competencies Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Essential Job Responsibilities: • Prepares for surgical procedures prior to surgical cases. • Assists with lifting, turning and holding extremities of patients. • Provides care to all age groups of patients. • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and surgical technology • Must be able to anticipate the needs of the supervising surgeon by providing medical supplies. • Maintain aseptic technique for safe delivery of care. Education: High School, American Heart Association BLS required. Must be a graduate from a surgical technology program accredited through CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). Licenses: None Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience preferred, 1 year experienced required as a Surgical Tech. Physical Requirements: Physical (prolonged standing, walking, moving, and lifting of equipment) and emotional stamina. May be expected to work overtime as needed. Must be able to lift trays of instrumentations (minimum of 50 lbs). Job may have to work for long periods without relief. Hours will vary and overtime is expected if necessary. Adept at working video and mechanical equipment. Visual acuity and manual dexterity. Performance Requirements: Attention to read and understand basic instructions and policies, ability to work independently and as part of team and communicate effectively.
