This position we are looking for Experienced NICU Nurses to Join our team! # # # The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 57 bed unit that includes intensive and sub-intensive patients. isolation rooms, a treatment room, a lactation room, bereavement room, an overnight stay room for families and a family lounge.# Common procedures in the NICU include assessment of patient#s status, stabilization of neonates at all high-risk deliveries, care of patients requiring assisted ventilation/oxygen therapy, care of pre and post operative patients, maintaining/monitoring invasive and non invasive hemodynamic monitoring, assist with bedside procedures, assist with invasive surgical procedures performed in the NICU, assist with diagnostic testing (MRI, CAT scan, sonograms, cardiac catherizations and eye exam). # The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital.# This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties. Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Degree program. Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. If hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within ninety (90) days of graduation and the GN must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment to obtain the required professional nursing licensure with New York State. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire or within#2 weeks after hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of the hire date, if deemed necessary for the position based on the scope of the assigned role. Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification for Registered Nurses working in the Kienzle Family Maternity Center must be obtained by the end of orientation.# Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.# Certification in a specialty area.
