Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center is actively looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. This provider will be responsible for providing patient care and education to obstetrical and gynecological patients. Administers direct prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum patient services and primary care to underserved obstetrical and gynecological patients. Provides educational and other related services for well women care; manages well women care for essentially healthy women through their life cycle. May perform administrative duties such as patient charting, oversight of a clinic and/or facility, or coordination of specific educational or outreach programs. May participate in research, community information and presentations, professional organizations, and related committees.

Requirements:

* Graduate of Nurse-Midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.
* Certification by the ACNM and or eligibility for licensure as a Nurse-Midwife in the State of Connecticut. Minimum one (1) year experience as a certified nurse-midwife is desirable; however, new graduates are welcome.
* Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, normal maternal/fetal growth and development, and requirements of nurse-midwifery practice.
* Ability to independently seek out resources and solve complex problems.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
* Ability to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, perform health assessments, treatment, and follow-up.
* Ability to provide leadership in the clinical area of expertise and in meeting organizational goals. Excellent organizational skills are necessary.
