Registered Nurse (RN) - NeonatalICU (NICU)

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is a 350-bed offering a wide variety of services, includingemergency care, labor and delivery, a level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit(NICU), general surgery, orthopedics, and robotic surgery. The hospital's150-acre campus also features The Tomball Regional Orthopedic Center, TheWomen's Center, Texas Sports Medicine Center, and The Heart and VascularCenter.

HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball is affiliated with HCA HoustonHealthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is acomprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergencycenters and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christiand South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers,13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
  • Responsible for assessing, planning,implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients in the NICU and NewbornNursery.
  • Participates in the development andimplementation of policies and procedures or the NICU that guide and supportthe provision of services
  • Responsible for meeting the standardsof Practice for a Level II and Level III NICU and managing all assigned personnel,supplies and equipment.
  • Participates in activities to plan,measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Performs neonatal assessment of NICUpatients and Newborn Nursery patients.
  • Performs nursing care of NICU patientsand Newborn Nursery patients.
  • Performs gestational age assessments.
  • Demonstrates appropriate usage andunderstanding of equipment used in the department.
  • Participates in mandatory uniteducation activities
  • Participates in the discharge processto include parent teaching


Qualifications
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing is required or must be currentlyenrolled
  • Current RN license in Texas and/or current Compact License
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE preferred
  • 6 months current NICUexperience required.
