Registered Nurse (RN) - OB/GYN Biltmore Campus

MAHEC is seeking a compassionate RN for a full time position with our OBGYN at Biltmore Campus. The RN works collaboratively as an active member of the inter-professional team to provide patient centered care. This role systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care; including patient care in the following areas: telephone triage, patient education, maintenance of the electronic medical record, scheduling, medication administration, and direct patient care.

The RN will need to use critical thinking to identify learning needs of the patient, and educates by adapting to patient learning style utilizing teach back method. The RN provides care that is safe, ethical, patient-centered, culturally congruent and evidence-based.

Education and/or Experience

* Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent required.
* Graduation from a certified RN program required.
* Two (2) years relevant experience or comparable combined experience and/or education preferred.
* 1-2 years of nursing experience in an OB/GYN setting preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations

* Current North Carolina nursing license or Board eligibility required
* Current CPR certification required.
* Valid Driver's License or State ID

* Knowledge and experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record.
* Excellent verbal and written skills

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records
* Ability to provide support with compassion and respect for the individual.
* Ability to prioritize workload, exhibit initiative, and multi-task within the department and across the division is required.
* Staff must demonstrate appropriate judgment in handling daily assignments.
* Staff will demonstrate appropriate technical skills with the utilization of the electronic health record and office based computer systems.
* Must demonstrate appropriate customer service orientation in all interactions within the organization and with patients, co-workers, care providers, and visitors.
* Employee must demonstrate discretion in dealing with medical, fiscal, and personnel information as is appropriate to position.
* Conversational Spanish preferred.
