JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for partnering with the Nurse Manager to assure department operations are carried out. The Assistant Nurse Manager will assist in operations, managing and developing staff including interviewing, hiring, and supervision of staff assisting with developing and monitoring of budget, policies and procedures, both new employee orientation and continued education of staff and management of quality improvement programs. The Assistant Nurse Manager will help maintain reports and records for JCAHO and collaborate with the RN, Nurse Manager, Clinical Head Nurses, Educators and Shared Governance councils to keep all policies, procedures and protocols current.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required 4 years of clinical experience required

Currently licensed to practice as an RN by PA Board of Nurse Examiners required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Clinical expertise in the unit of responsibility

Academic Medical Center experience and knowledge of Magnet
