The NICU at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital has staff with extensive specialized training and experience to provide stabilizing and life-saving care for sick newborns. The NICU is recognized as a Level IV NICU the highest level of intensive care for neonates comprised of 3 units Small Baby, Med/Surg, and Intermediate Care with the opportunities to advance to higher level acuity.We are a designated March of Dimes NICU Family Support program and have a Neuro NICU with specialized care for babies with neurologic conditions.NICU Department:Level IV NICUNeonatal Nurse Practitioners on Staff 24/774 bedsNICU Med/Surg: Level IV29 bedsCaring for babies above 32 weeks 1-2 patients per RN depending on stability of the babyRNs must become NRP certified.This position will be working 72 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend. The position is eligible for benefits including loan repayment.

Provides care to patients with complex NICU needs.Performs advanced monitoring using current technologySurgical patients with congenital anomaliesTotal Body Cooling (TBC)Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)Care of intubated patients and patients with tracheostomiesCentral arterial lines/monitoringCentral and other venous lines

Qualifications:
Required:2 years of pediatric RN experience OR at least 6 months of current employment at UMMCH as a NICU RNMN RN LicenseBLS
