Overview:
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. We provide a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.Our clinical staff apply innovative approaches to creating medical breakthroughs based their work with patients and on findings through research at the University of Minnesota. This has led to several firsts, including the first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant in Minnesota and cochlear ear implant surgery for a child.Through teamwork and collaboration, we respectfully address the physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs of pediatric patients and their families. Our compassionate, innovative approach has repeatedly received national recognition. In 2021, three medical specialties at University of Minnesota Masonic Childrens Hospital were ranked on U.S. News & World Reports annual Best Childrens Hospitals listmore than any other childrens hospital in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. This is the 14thconsecutive year that our hospital has received national honors from U.S. News & World Report.Newborn Family Care Center-Postpartum:24 beds Mom/Baby private roomsCouplet Care, average of 3 couplets day/evening shift, 4 couplets night shift.Care delivery team: RN and NST/NA.Professional growth encouraged in professional certifications and/or IBCLC.Inpatient Lactation Consultant on unit.Newborn IV antibiotic administration.This position will be working 60 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend. The position is eligible for benefits including loan repayment.
Responsibilities/Job Description:
Provides postpartum care for the newly delivered mother and her newborn infant. Manages complex medication and infusion therapiesPerforms advanced monitoring using current technologyCare for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.
Qualifications:
Required:Post Partum OR Labor and Delivery experienceMN RN licenseBLS for healthcare providersNRP certifiedPreferred:BSN
