Provides patient care in accordance with clinical standards. Assesses and monitors total physiological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs of all patient populations. Triage appointment scheduling and ensures preference is given to patients in emergency situations. Maintain timely flow of patients. Greets patients, screens for appropriate information and prepares them for examination. Documents patient care consistent with documentation guidelines. Prepares equipment and supports provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Arranges and coordinates all provider orders and follows through to completion. Arranges paperwork for referrals and assures that the information is forwarded to the consulting provider. Obtains prior authorization for procedures and medications ordered as needed. Responds to and refers incoming calls in a timely manner. Instructs patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions. Ensures tests and examination results are recorded and forwarded to the provider in a timely manner. Inventories exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials and prepares a list of supplies needed. Ensures cleanliness of room(s) and reports any defective equipment in a timely manner.

Qualifications for CMA:
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
  • Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant and AAMA or NCCT certification.

Qualifications for LPN:
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Illinois for Licensed Practical Nurse.

Qualifications for RN:
  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa/Illinois for Registered Nurse.

Qualifications for RN, LPN, or CMA:
  • Mandatory Reporter certification
  • Meets educational/competency requirements per policy.
  • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred.
  • Computer data entry experience.
  • Mandatory Reporter certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Able to write, read, comprehend and speak fluent English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred
