Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael, California, serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years. It is one of the areas largest and most comprehensive medical centers. Dedicated to the communitys well-being, our staff and volunteers provide excellence in care for our patients each year. Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery, along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care, Hip- and Knee- Replacement.
Responsibilities:
Mercy San Juans Family Birth Center was recently certified for baby friendly and is the 2nd hospital in the nation and first on the west coast to have the joint commission perinatal certification. Our FBC consists of a 12 bed labor unit, 2 ORs and a 14 bed private postpartum unit. We average 160-180 deliveries a month, and have a full team of experienced leaders with a focus on perinatal and neonatal safety.The incumbent is a professional who provides and supervises care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally. labor & delivery, L, L & D, labor, antepartum, birthing center, family birth center, post partum, postpartum, ob, obstetrics, mother baby, couplet care, family birth, women & children, women's & children, nrp, neonatalresescitation, fetal monitoring, nurse, staff nurse, registered nurse, rn, charge nurse, c section, c-section, ncc, awhonn, clinical coordinator, nurse shift manager#missioncritical#hellofamilybirthingRN#RN@DH
Qualifications:
Minimum:1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experienceFetal monitoring experience requiredCurrent CA RN licensure, BLS, ACLS & NRP certificate from American Heart AssociationNCC fetal monitoring certificate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course completion within 12 months of hire Cesarean Section experience preferred. 2 vacancies
