Responsibilities & Requirements:
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers. The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments.The Healthy Start-Home Visit-RN functions in a multifaceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The Health Start-Home Visit-RN is responsible for maintaining high standards in clinical practice/continuum of care, professional practice development, teamwork, customer relations, and research/performance improvement in delivering case management and support services for a designated caseload of patients. Home visits will be made with this caseload of pregnant/parenting women and their children under the program research protocols. The nurse will also interact with appropriate community agencies in accordance with guidelines. The nurse is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and all applicable regulatory standards. Policies, procedures and protocols of the Human Resources Department, GDAHA, Help Me Grow Brighter Futures and the Healthy Start grant.The Healthy Start-Home Visit-RN reports to the Home Visit Supervisor/Leader for the Healthy Start grant. The Nurse is accountable for compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Human Resources Department, GDAHA, the Help Me Grow Brighter Futures Program and any funding sources for the work of the department.Requirements:Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered NurseGraduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse. New graduates from non-accredited programs may be considered if they had a clinical rotation at a network hospital.Bachelor of Science in nursing required.Complete orientation training per the Healthy Start guidelines. Complete HFA training and become credentialed.At least 2 years of recent experience in pediatrics or related experience required with children from birth through 5 years. Experience in adolescent psychology, OB, pediatrics, home care and community nursing preferred.BLS certification requiredGood Communication skillsand ease with adolescents.Valid drivers license and an insured safe automobile
