Registered Nurse Extern, Postpartum

Overview:

We are looking for an Extern to join our Obstetrics team! In your role as an extern, you will be able to take the first steps into an exciting nursing career all while working alongside a collaborative team that will make your growth a priority!

Community Regional Medical Center is the largest of our three main hospitals and the flagship hospital of the Central Valley. This academic-affiliated, Level 1 Trauma Center is located on a 58-acre campus in downtown Fresno. It features one of the largest and busiest emergency departments in California as well as a comprehensive burn center. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients.

Responsibilities:

In your role as an Extern, you will work limited time under the direction of an RN Mentor. While under the direction of your mentor, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, providing patient care using defined procedures and standards in accordance with the goals of the unit.

Qualifications:

Education

High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Enrolled in a school of nursing. Completion of first semester in an ADN Nursing Program or second semester in a BSN Nursing Program. Enrolled in the work study program associated with school of nursing attended required

Licenses and Certifications

BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required

Please note: Per the CDPH order, all healthcare workers are required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption and test regularly.
