Purpose:

Provides oversight of daily program operations and supervises frontline staff providing services in the community to at risk mothers, children and families. Enhances staff knowledge on maternal child health and available community resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures daily operations are carried out in accordance with EveryStep policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains client caseloads and adequate staffing patterns.
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring of staff.
  • Orients new staff and provides professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Leads team meetings that address programming and facilitates case conferences.
  • Ensures program documentation and billing processes are followed.
  • Collaborates with billing and finance departments to ensure correct payment of Medicaid claims
  • Provides performance feedback, develops corrective action plans and administers disciplinary action as needed.
  • Provides reflective supervision and performance evaluations.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Collaborates across departments and programs to address the needs of the team and to ensure program quality.
  • Works with director to ensure program goals, objectives, and timelines are met.
  • Assists with reporting, grant writing and annual budget planning.
  • Coordinate and/or provide clinical education to all applicable staff.
  • Represents the agency as part of community group, coalitions or activities.
  • May maintain a client caseload up to the equivalent of .25 FTE or 5 clients
  • Performs all functions of a nurse home visitor, including nursing assessment and identifying family strengths and needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by program director.
  • Uses motivational interviewing, coaching, joint visits and the NFP quality framework to support and provide oversight to nurse home visitors.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from accredited school of nursing required
  • Current and valid Iowa RN license
  • Minimum of three years' experience in maternal child nursing with supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to accept and work with diverse populations, culturally, economically and educationally
  • Performs all functions of a nurse home visitor, including nursing assessment and identifying family strengths and needs
  • Writes, reads and interprets policies and procedures and conveys these clearly to those supervised
  • Ability to analyze and write detailed, clear and concise program reports, correspondence, and documentation
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Maintains clear communication with and fosters positive working relationships among team members
  • Demonstrates skill in team building
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work for self and those supervised
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with all administrative procedures
  • Ability to mediate and resolve problems fairly and impartially
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certification
  • Mandatory Reporter of Child and Dependent Adult abuse training certification (within 30 days of hire)
  • Must have valid driver's license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation if driving is required
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, 2-step TB test and background check
