Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant provides knowledge in the practice of lactation management. Diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention and evaluation outcomes. Conducts prenatal breastfeeding classes and evaluates educational outcomes. Provides consultation and outpatient care for families experiencing difficulty breastfeeding. Qualifications:
Graduate of a state approved school of professional nursing practice. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree preferred. Current certification as Lactation Counselor required. Consultant certification preferred, If person does not have certification, must obtain within 6 months of hire. Must have Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas. Current BLS/CPR required. NRP, ACLS, and Intermittent Fetal Monitoring.
