Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under general supervision, the registered nurse in the Birth Center provides specialty professional nursing duties. Essential job functions include:
* Completion of training and/or orientation to the Birth Center an dInfant Care Center;
* Completion of hospital orientation and all ongoing HealthStream (CBT) requirements in a timely fashion;
* Providing nursing care to ante partum, intrapartum,postpartum, GYN and well-infant paitents within an assigned unit or clinic;
* Providing Dyad Care within postpartum area;
* Circulating in the operating room;
* Implementing medical and nursing care plans;
* Directing and supervising the patient care provided by nursing personnel assigned to the unit;
* Maintaining all competencies for the OB/GYN specialty, including specialized training in fetal monitoring every other year;
* Maintaining all unit-based point of care testing (POCT)competencies;
* Attending all mandatory meetings as required by the Nurse Manager;
* Reading and responding to all written and electronic communication as required;
* Maintaining standard unit activities in the absence of the Nurse Manager; and
* Performing other related duties as assigned/required.
